Ummm. Why port 8080? (It's usually 80)

Sorry -- I genuinely *can't* help you with MS problems -- I'm completely
ignorant of how Apache runs under Windows.
But didn't I see you running Knoppix on the laptop last night?
Apache comes pre-installed with Knoppix -- and I'm fairly certian PHP is
pre-installed too.
Play around with PHP on that :)
