Web pages are just ascii (text) files, and as long as you know the
formatting rules and names of the different tags, may be produced using
*any* text editor -- vi, emacs, nedit, OpenOffice.org Writer, nano,
pico, joe, cat -- whatever grabs your fancy or is installed on your
machine. (And if it's Notepad or Word, you're using the wrong machine!)

You do NOT need a wysiwyg editor to produce web pages.

Have you any way of transferring the web pages you have on your Windows
box to your Knoppix laptop (are they separate machines? dual-boot on the
same machine?) Because if so, there's a whole bunch of people on this
list ready to talk you through the fun/misery/despair/giggles of setting
up a local website under Linux (a doddle!), and then getting PHP and
MySQL to to co-work with it -- but precious few ready to waste time on
Windows problems. (Wrong user group ;-)

Cheers,
