i believe theres some legal loophole that when a PC is donated to
someone you have to supply all the license/mauals if its got Windows

i heard a rumour that MS are scaring schools/charities into not having
PCS with formated HD donated to them saying that they are illegal or
some such
because of the assumption that hookey win98 would be of coarse installed

illegal to be a PC without windows installed!!
hmmmmmmmmm

has anyone heard more about this?

Then I hope they're supplying them with a properly GP licensed OS and
associated apps -- and not pushing them goodies to get them hooked for
life on commercial proprietary systems which they will never be able to
afford without breaking the software licensing laws which constrain
their use?
