oh, I see Andrew suggested chain-loading, in which case you do need to
set it up on each disk.

I used to just place all the kernel images on hda and use one lilo.conf
on hda like this:

image = /vmlinuz
  label = Linux
  root = /dev/hda1

image = /vmlinuz.demudi
  label = DeMuDi
  root = /dev/hdb1

It's been a while since I used lilo though, so I may be wrong.
