WHEN we become fully European, and adopt sensible date/time stamps, you
won't dream of using anything else!
And ref. Steve's comments on the visceral reaction to 'free' and 'open'
-- if only we all spoke French, we'd instinctively grasp the difference
between 'gratuit' and 'libre', and have no problems whatsoever.
Much as I admire and have great respect for RMS, he's a complete and
total bozo when it comes to the creative use of language. He really
shouldn't be allowed within a mile of naming procedures. (GNU? LiGNUx?
HURD?) Only a drongo with no feel for the English language could come
up with expressions like: 'Free as in beer' vs. 'Free as in speech' --
thus muddying the waters totally.
Sad, really.
Mind you, he writes a real mean flame when he wants.
