Father of the free software movement.  Engine behind the development of
copyleft; free software licensing ideals; and all the applications
software (GNU) which allowed Linux Torvalds to make such a success of
his Unix-clone kernel.

If ever you get the chance to hear him speak in public, you should do
so.  (He's been to the UK a couple of times already this year -- London
and Cambridge.)
