Ooops! After I wrote I remembered that the Speedtouch USB modem is ok.
Sorry. I started with a Binatone 500 that came with the ADSL package
and though it worked with Windows there was no linux driver. The ISP
said yes they know and suggested that I should get an ethernet modem.
Good advice on the whole though the D-Link 300T didn't work either.
