+You can change the seting for langauges in the KDE control center.there
are 2 setting one for the boot spalsh screen ( this is in system
administration login manager chande to administrator mode and select the
right language.

If it was Openoffice that youhaveto do a new install. i did not use the
.deb packages as there was a problem with installing them so i used the
openoffice installer and have not had any problems.
