Andrew..>>>--If you're happy enough to use WP5.1, I'm advised that it works
very
well under dosemu with FreeDOS :)

Interesting. I commenced with WP5.1 blue screen. But I'd prefer not to go
earlier than WP 8 as it has more facilities by far.

>>>Corel at one point had WP 8 for Linux - when they still maintained
their own distribution.

That's the one I failed to get, it had been deleted when I ordered it.

>>>It may be that WP 11 is "too new" for Crossover
Office to handle -

Now there's a point, I could load the WP 8 version for win. It was a pretty
good version. Will try that when time.

>>> have you tried sending them a bug report?

Not re using it in Crossover.

WP 11 isn't I feel greatly advanced over V8.

I'm fairly used to WP bug issues, having used WordPerfect, as an enthusiast,
since the early 90's. There aren't usually many problems but WP 11 seemed
less good. It does some weird things occasionally. I can't complain to them
until I've loaded the service pack which I simply "must" do!! It's probably
sorted out the problems.

>>There's a WordPerfect on Linux FAQ which covers much of this.

I've looked at some of it. But mainly re when the Linux version would appear.

AbiWord
and Kmail both have some support for .wpd

Interesting. I don't know AbiWord. I haven't yet worked out how KMail will
support .wpd.

>>- OpenOffice 2.0 will have support when it is released.

About time. I had the early free StarOffice once upon a time (in Windows) and
that would read WordPerfect. When it became OpenOffice, they removed the
facility, very annoying.

Thanks for the info!

Ros
