I haven't an effing clue.

At the last meeting it was decided that this month's would be the *first*
week in December; (as decided upon when the group was first set up --
* F I R S T *  Wednesday of  * E V E R Y *  month).

If this has since been changed, I don't know why or when, or by whom.

The fixed date rule got completely ballocksed by the dictates of the school
timetable -- NO meeting in Aug. bcause school is shut; first week of Sept.
NO GOOD because school has just begun; first week in November NO GOOD
because school is closed for half-term; first week of Jan. NO GOOD
because school is closed/term hasn't yet begun; April iffy because of
Easter; May iffy because of half-term; June iffy because staff
invigilating exams; July iffy because school year-end chaos reigns.
Etc., effing etc. Plus: no school caretaker = no meeting; or whatever.

NOW -- I'm VERY grateful to the school for letting us have the use of the
room, equipment, power, facilities. etc; -- B U T -- the
inconveniences are now outweighing the conveniences. (I.e. we never know
when the next meeting is.) Many of us no longer have kids of school age
and so aren't so much in the swim as we might once have been. And
moreover, couldn't care less.
Personally, I'd like to see a REGULAR monthly meeting, come snow or shine.
I'd also like to know *when*.

So I'm with Sean on this one. There are over 60 of us in this group; our
combined skills represent quite a lot of clout.

So let's get ourselves organised at the next meeting, and hammer out one
or two things for good. Hopefully by then I will have had chance to talk
to the Head, and may be able to organise something that doesn;t put as
much pressure on Steve as there is at present.

But first -- W H E N exactly is the next meeting?
(Clue -- I'm turning up next Wednesday.)

Cheers,
--
