This is what the BBC News page (http://news.bbc.co.uk) read:

"New analysis shows the Code Red virus was, despite fears, 
never a danger to the web, as July's internet disruption was 
caused by a train crash."

... no comment.

BTW. dunno if it's just me but neither ICQ nor the Whitehouse
and some others were working (incl. one of my mail servers),
