There's no point in letting the Online section get to you. It just
doesn't seem to be a part of the paper as a whole. It shares none of the
politics or social conscience of the rest of the paper. Everything is
great so long as some big corporation tells them it is great. Nothing
with money is questioned. There was an article the other month on online
gambling and how it will soon be much more available and easy in the UK.
And the Online section thought that was great - aren't these online
casinos terribly clever and run by such wonderful chaps etc. If the same
article had appeared in any other section it would have at least
mentioned the problems of gambling addiction and subjected the financial
and technical operations of the online casinos to some scrutiny. But the
Online section just laps up anything any PR company hands it. Might as
well be the Telegraph's computing section.
