512K? Pah. This guy I know (www.sprow.co.uk, if interested!) designed his
own solid-state drive for the Beeb, expandable up to 8 megs ;) "Typical
transfer rates can exceed 20KBps" ;) 

I've only ever seen the 1 meg version I think, and watching a Beeb searching
through all that RAM is not a pretty site... sloooow......
