Did anyone else attend Ted T'so's talk at last night's Unix User Group meeting yesterday?

I made the trip (first time I've got round to making it to such a thing) and was very impressed. He gave an interesting talk on how Linux has developed over the last decade, and where it might be going over the next few (particularly the internal and external challenges faced). He was a good speaker, obviously having opinions of his own but being very diplomatic, particularly faced with audience questions at the end. It's a shame the microphone he was using started fading in and out at the end, as that was somewhat distracting, but apart from that, it was a very good event.

As far as the challenges go:

Internal - work in the user space (fixing niggling bugs, writing good documentation, providing tools users need, etc)

External - MS .NET attempts to assimilate the internet, intellectual property issues (particulary matters such as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other similar legislation, and how to deal the threat of patents restricting what open source developers can build).

If anyone else was there, what did I miss out?

Wulf
