I must say that when I read this the other day (and its counterpart -
http://www.govtalk.gov.uk/rfc/rfc_document.asp?docnum=429 - which is
more of a summary) I was very pleased.

As Xander has said in another post, Linux is no less ready [on the
desktop] than Windows, so I have a feeling linux will be liked *far*
more by the government in the very near future.
