Again from Uni days, I'm sure that the city of my alma mater, York
University, also laid claim to something like most pubs per square inch
or something... maybe its something that every University uses to attact
students? Even more off topic, John (the KentLUG contact) and I both
grew up in Hextable, which, I believe, is one of the few villages in
England with no pub at all (due to an ancient bylaw).... 

None of that, of course, has anything to do with penguins....

They have more pubs period. From my days at University there, I seem
to recall Canterbury has the highest number of pubs per capita of
anywhere in the UK (Oxford has the most per square mile -- or is it
the other way round?)
