Simple answer is no, at least not in the same sense that people
are used to under Windows. You can use ctrl-alt-keypadplus and
ctrl-alt-keypadminus to change the physical resultion of the
screen, but the logical resolution stays the same, and you can
scroll around to get the non-visible bits.
