Indeed. After all, ed is the standard text editor! Note, though,
that you can use ex in a similarly scripted manner to give you
slightly more flexibility if you need it. Hell, you can even
use vi, but I wouldn't recommend it :-) Before you ask, yes,
I've seen it done (at the ministry of defense no less) before
I went through and changed it to use ex instead.
