[Gllug] ftp filesystem in the Linux kernel

I am looking for the implementation of ftp as a filesystem in the Linux 
kernel.  I read somewhere a couple of months ago that someone was 
seeking to implement it similar to samba.

I know that I asked a question similar to this over a year ago; however 
this is slightly different.  I tried looking through the sites 
www.kernel.org. and linux.org and did some searches on google but did 
not find a roadmap or proposed changes.

I was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
