[Gllug] Screen capture

Hi,
I'm working on a project which involves capturing the output of other 
programs but I've had trouble finding any functions in the X documentation 
which can do this sort of thing... If anybody could suggest a method or some 
good web resources for X / Window Manager coding it would be much 
appreciated. I have looked for relevant sourceforge projects but haven't been 
able to find any which would help...
