[Gllug] installing PM's via cpan produces error

Hi,

I am trying to install some modules in using the cpan shell:

#perl -MCPAN -e shell > cpan.txt 2> cpanerror.txt
cpan>Install Image::Magick

(outputs redirected for your delight and enjoyment) and I keep getting
errors.  This happens whenever I try and install a module (for instance the
GD module).  I put the errors here:

as some people will not want to recieve them.  In case it is of any use:

#make -v

returns the version as 3.79.

Any help would be much appreceated.  Any ideas?
