[Gllug] OT HD failure

Got back to work today after some time off to discover a) a dead HD on a 
key machine and b) a colleague who had yet again failed to set-up the 
backups properly.  Not the disaster it might have been but I wouldn't 
mind getting at some of the data on the HD (a Samsung SV1022D).  Seems to 
be a controller failure - any advice from data recovery pioneers?
