You want to do things the real way but you don't have a network of NFS
boxes set up?

Just think of all the learning (i.e. spontaneous blocks-on-a-down-
machine, I-don't-know-you-go-away and weird and bizarre failures when
the portmapper stops knowing that the nfsd exists) that you're missing!
