[Gllug] Mandrake 8.1 Install Successful (was 'playing with /etc/fstab')

I was off work yesterday, so I printed off a copy of /etc/fstab, swapped the primary IDE drive for a new one (aren't drive caddies cool for this kind of thing...) and swung into an install of Mandrake 8.1.

Everything went smoothly (fingers crossed after telling the installer to use the free space) until trying to set up the printer. Something funny happened and the process ground to a halt. I started again, used the expert partioning options to wipe out everything on hda (leaving hdb, snug inside the machine with all my data) and stopped again (this time it was because I had to go out and do some Christmas shopping... can't blame Mandrake for that one).

Finally, I did one more try - and voila, I now have a working Mandrake 8.1 install. Interestingly, it didn't try to set up the printer the second time, and I had no problems. I've not yet had enough time to come up with an particularly profound insights, but I just wanted to feedback that all my original data on hdb survived intact, so I place a fair amount of confidence in the partioning abilities of the Drax installer.
