Sorry, you did.

I was halfway through making a point, and then forgot the other half: the 
other half was that it depended on how you read the sentance, whether or not 
the IP address was the first IP in the range (i.e...), or was a broadcast 
source (e.g.., which happened to be the first IP in the range). My point was 
going to be that the second interpretation was far more tenuous :)
