I think you'll find that GLLUG is a varied enough group that there is no way
we could produce a single distribution which would suit us all.  For a start
- which language would you use to configure the thing?  Perl, Python, shell,
LISP, Ruby...

Not going to happen, unless everyone joins me on Slackware.  Or GNU/Solaris,
which a) doesn't exist (yet) and b) isn't Linux... :-)
