[Gllug] Star office 6.0 changing default dictionaries

Hi all,

Sorry for such a simple question but i have been going round in circles 
for an hour, I am trying to change the default language from USA English 
to UK English.

I have found the Options - language  Settings - Writing Aids - Edit 
modules but no sooner do I change the Language option and close the screen 
that it reverts to English USA.

Am I performing feats of advanced muppetry and missing something really 
obvious or is there some sort of bug going on here the help files are 
incomplete and a google search doesn't turn up very much.
