Not free as in free beer, but free as in free software; and, actually,
you do usually have the right to modify and distribute beer. Just
don't do it up a lamppost when the police are watching.

[And it certainly is usually served in my 'preferred form for making
modifications to the work', i.e. a glass of liquid.]
