Via vesafb only, yes.

I believe the G550 uses the HAL again.
(Recently pleasantly suprised to stick my G450 back into my machine and use
it without the huge HAL module)

Scan had it at GBP77 (ex. VAT) yesterday, it was at a computer fair for
GBP95 over the weekend.
