It was reported on CNN that the downed plane in Pennsylvania probably was on 
course for the Whitehouse. This plane crashed in the same time frame as the 
others and if this is so missed the target. It is reported a passenger phoned 
his wife and said that the cockpit had been taken over and that he 'they' 
were going to do something - it looks like they did.

Whether stewardess, flight attendant or pilot the objective is least loss of 
life and the job is to do just that even with loss of the aircraft. Lockerbie 
reminds us of the loss of life not just in the air but on the ground where 
spread out areas and not cities in the air were targets of human populations. 
It takes special people to be accepted into these positions and training. 
Their loss of life is one those of us not having been challenged by this test 
of heroism in our time serving can reflect on that training and dedication to 
the aviation and backup emergency services as land or air staff.
