   The trade price for most off-the-shelf cases includes the power supply,
switches, and fitting kit, and is still often cheaper than a single fan
purchased separately. It even seems to be cheaper to throw away a (perhaps
damaged) case just to get a replacement PSU, so don't assume that the PSU is
too wonderful. 
   It is possible to oil the sleeve bearing of most fans. Lift the adhesive
label to reveal a soft rubber bung covering the bearing. Use a very high
quality light oil, I have been told that some well-known cheaper oils can
dry to a hard deposit.
