xine is nice and will do avi,mpeg,dvd,vcd if you have the codecs.
As for quicktime (.mov) xanim will do QT2 with the right plugin. The
xanim homepage explains it all. However most .mov files will be made using
codecs newer than QT2 which are all proprietary and unavailable to linux,
unless you want to call up apple and license them. Shouldn't cost you
more than a couple of million. One can only hope that now they have OSX
they might be more inclined to release a linux QT viewer.
