I got stuck using terminal services for a while as the 'rules' in 
Outlook and exchange do not work.  In addition the last 'security' patch 
  [you know that patches that stop viral operating systems working with 
M$] broke IMAP support so I could no longer use Mozilla to get mail.

I found a small perl program on sourceforge that some generous chap has 
written to that downloads mail from exchange using the webmail side.

Something more to add to 'How to migrate from M$' documentation ;-)
