Well, after playing Powermanga for 45 minutes (in KDE 2) I have 72%
battery life yet. That's typical. I usually get about two hours 45 in
X and over 3 hours (up to 3hrs 30) at the console.
That's with no peripherals plugged in. The CD-ROM and Floppy suck a
little more out, depending on use.
What I can't fix is apm's assessment of how much time I have left. One
second it says 6 minutes left (on 72% charge), the next it's 21 hours.
