 The initial settings in MDK regarding the disks are completely 
 conservative, hdparm is not even installed, use it with caution.
 At least in my system.
  
 Not that I have ever had high end hardware, but I would be conservative 
 with new speedy hardware, anyway is there any real performance difference 
 between IDE133 and 100? Not outside sales and marketing people. 

 Probably the sensible thing to do would be to have both disk and 
 controller working at the same speed??.
