Also worth checking if the access number is OK (on general).

Onetel have a page where you enter the number to which the modem is 
attached and you are told the best access number. Freeserve also have 
some alternatives....

On a related note, I still cannot upload from Linux to Freeserve more 
that 25k at a time.... I have tried to set the MTU manually. Works 
fine if I use the modem in my MacOS boxen...
