Yup I gave up on a 3com card in a Linux box and bought a Netgear Card which
worked fine  - cheaper too !!

I have two netgear cards, one of wich was superseded by the other with a
different chipset; but they both work fine.

The earlier cards were FA-310TX  and I think the later card FA-311TX
