I've had ADSL down for 3 days max so far about a month ago, up until
then we had lost if for 2-3 hours about twice over two years.  Which
sounds like we have been very lucky as the techs at Mailbox say they
normally 2% down at any time which is always due to BT issues.

I also thought the Acatel modem/hubs that originally came with business
connections would be fairly reliable but I know of two that have died
and had to be replaced for clients.
