Why worry about where Esc is on sensible keyboards ?
You can generate Esc by 'Ctrl [', like that you don't care.
The only problem with that is that what seems to have become the
standard layout keyboard, puts Ctrl on the bottom left, which is
awkward to reach ... just to the left of 'A' is a much better place.
When did you last press shift lock intentionally ?
