Uninformed kneejerk reaction :- The 'U' measurement isn't changing, it's the
spacing between the bolt-holes that's either imperial or metric ...

Remembering a DEC rack, ordered with a bunch of alphas ... the alphas were
metric-spaced, the cabinet was imperial ... but they were all 19" wide :-)
