When I grew up my first sight of a PC was a Vic20 several years after it was
released, I never had a spectrum I plead poorness as my excuse. As for
learning the home keys its a case of can I be arsed or do I want to learn
about functions, oh look at these macro things they look shiny oh my god
what is a syntax file and on and on and on. I have no practical use for
functions but I do not know them, I know the home keys but I do not use
them. Vim to me is like a new toy. I get to play with it at work and when I
am butchering and trashing my various systems at home I get to use it there
as well.

Harry
Vim is better than emacs. I wonder who will rise to that after reading this
obvious statement that I am trying to see who will not get to the end of
this sentence before formulating a reply, I have never used emacs so cannot
comment as to its pros and cons and from all account its a great tool.
