I think because the DVD software writes to the screen without talking too 
much to the display manger (scuse the vague handwaving)

you can still do screen grabs (unlike in windows) - but you have to use the 
DVD software to do it

IRRC press 'i' while using ogle to grap an image...

or rtm for your dvd app
