Not sure where it comes from - I used it on a Linux box at work (Mandrake 7.2,
IIRC). I guess a google search for kmessage might find it.

Otherwise, xmessage does basically the same thing, but doesn't look quite
as good.

I've no idea what you want it for, but for simple gui dialogs to
choose arguments for commandline programs, I really like the stuff
built in to FVWM.  It lets you design dialogs with text fields, buttons,
etc.
