Init is the master process (that rules them all and in the shadows binds 
them etc [and I know that is a misquote, puleeze]).  It runs way before 
KDE.  If init was not found then there is a basic problem with your 
set-up.  That error message usually indicates a problem with the 
root/boot filesystem.
