We are getting together a group of people to travel
over to the FOSDEM weekend in Brussels.
What is FOSDEM - Free and Open Software Developers Meeting.

The webpages are at http://www.fosdem.org

There is something for EVERYONE in GLLUG at this event -
whether or not you consider yourself to be a developer.
A group of us went over last year to the first one,
and had a great weekend.
This year's speakers include RMS (mais bein sur!)
Miguel de Icaza, etc. etc.
And its a great social weekend too - the Linux Beer Hike
boys will be organising an evening out in a pub -
and with the quality of beer in Belgium this will
be a corker.

Anyway, we should please keep traffic about this off-list.

One important date is January 31st - if you want a FOSDEM
t-shirt you are invited to make a 25 Euros donation before
then. So let's get together to do that.

Travel should be via Eurostar on Friday 15th
(or for those daft enough to trog out to Luton
you can fly Easyjet if you want!)
We'll stay in a reasonably priced hotel -
or if budgets are limited the Beer Hike guys are
already booked into the hostel Jacques Brel.
Return on the evening of February 17th.

Anyone who has good information on getting group
travel deals on the Eurostar please let me know.

John H.

ps. don't ummm and ahhh over going to FOSDEM.
Trust me. Just go - you will NOT regret it.
