either amd or am_utils package names should be what your looking for.
it's basically a way (ancient) to mount NFS directories on request, as
opposed to explicitly mounting them via fstab.  think of it as a dynamic
fstab, that can be calculated and expanded on user request.

things like /home/$user can be mounted across the network as and when a 
user logs in.  very usefull.
