Okay the Mini is automatic. It has gear positions for
Reverse
Neutral
1
2
3
Drive

Too small to have a Park gear (Locks gearbox so will not roll on a slope)
Driving is normally Neutral,Reverse and Drive.
Drive means 1,2,3,4 based on what mood the car takes
3 means only 1,2 and 3 (Heavy driving conditions with a ground clearence of
whole millimetres)
2 means only 1 and 2 (To pull a caravan - In a mini ?)
1 means only 1 (supposidly for pulling out of quicksand)
Just been out in the rain and slow acceleration you can hear the distinct
gear changes.
