I'm using gnome-ppp with Mandrake 8.0 and it's OK. Occasionally the ppp
"dies unexpectedly" but I think that may be problems with the ISP or
with my phone line.

The GUI dialler that comes with RedHat 7.1 doesn't seem nearly as good
(I think it uses wvdial behind the scenes) - it keeps the "waiting"
window up when it has actually connected sometimes, also the network
traffic display sometimes doesn't work plus I often have to kill off
processes manually to shut it down. But then sometimes it does work OK
so very unpredictable.

I've also used the wvdial commandline in RH6 to dial up which worked
fine.

I think all the hard-core developers must be on broadband connections
and thus aren't inspired to develop stuff for us backward dialuppers.
