Hi people,

This is my first post to the list as I've not yet moved to London - I'm
currently abroad, but won't be for much longer.

Over here, I've got ADSL setup using kernel mode PPPOE and the supplied
ARESCOM NETDSL 800
(http://www.arescom.com/New/Products%20Page/Stored%20Products%20Pages/NetDSL800U%20Page/NetDSL800U.htm)connected to my machine by ethernet. Can someone tell me if this product will be compatible with the BT ADSL? The following extract from the product FAQ is worrying me:

---

Each ISP/DSL line provider provided unit has been specially
manuafactured with specific drivers and modes to work with that
particular ISP/DSL line provider. Due to this, ARESCOM WILL NOT provide
any form of support if you decide to switch to another service provider,
and are attempting to use the same DSL unit.

---

Does anyone have any idea how I could check what drivers my model has
been manufactured with? Apparently, the unit has a telnet interface -
any suggestions how to get to this? I'm afraid their website is a bit
thin on technical details...

Thanks,

Sam.
