   There seem to be plenty of people who get to the same position, then
slowly grind to a crawl as they get buried in mountains of information until
they find the correct man-page, by which time they have forgotten the
details from all the others. It certainly happens to me, I am trying to
build a comprehensive network and learn more at home in North Acton.
   Realtek use standard off-the-shelf components, but have not always kept
to one chip type for a given card, so I sometimes need to try a few
possibilities listed by Debian. Look for clues in the print on the main
chip. Debian will normally just refuse if you try to instal the wrong
driver, keep trying until you find the correct one.
